Medical Benefits
This top-tier employer-paid health care through Irish Life Health includes a wide range of conditions and covers inpatient and outpatient fees, private and high-tech hospitals and access to digital GP services. You also have the option to select three additional wellness add-ons that suit your personal needs, including additions focusing on fertility, travel, sports, etc.
How your healthcare expenses are paid
All residents are eligible to utilise Ireland’s public Health Services Executive (HSE). However, you may experience some hurdles using the HSE, such as longer wait times, less choice of consultants and access to public hospitals only.
When utilising the Irish Life Health private insurance, the Irish market works whereby payment is required upfront and claims are submitted to the insurance company for reimbursement. Payment for more costly services such as hospitalisations and surgeries are usually arranged directly between the insurance carrier and medical facility.
When can you enrol?

*In Ireland, benefits (such as supplemental health care) paid on an employee’s behalf by the employer are considered “benefits-in-kind.” These benefits are taxable to you. FII covers the annual membership cost (premium) of this plan for you and your qualified dependants. However, you are responsible for the tax on the membership cost (premium) which FII has paid. Depending on individual circumstances, there may also be a loading fee. This is called “Lifetime Community Rating” (“LCR”) and is an additional age-based fee added to the premium when certain individuals aged 35+ take up health insurance in Ireland for the first time. Fisher will cover the LCR where applicable, but employees are responsible for the additional tax on this government fee.
