Family Leave Types

When you welcome a new child into your family, Fisher Investments supports you with various options for leave depending on your situation.

Please refer to the Employee Handbook for more information on details regarding the length of leave, eligibility and notification requirements. For additional questions or to discuss your leave needs, please contact BenefitsServices@fi.com.

  • Fisher Investments will provide up to 14 weeks of paid parental leave to female employees giving birth to a child, starting from 6 weeks prior to the expected birth of a baby (14 weeks in the case of multiple births). Additional unpaid leave time may be taken thereafter. For other maternity related scheduling reduction and accommodations, please reach out to ~Benefits Services.

  • Fisher Investments will provide up to 4 weeks of leave (of which 3 weeks are paid) for fathers upon the birth of a child. The leave can be taken in up to two instances up to 8 weeks after the birth of a child.

  • Upon request, Fisher Investments will grant unpaid childcare leave to employees who live with and are raising a child (including adopted children) under one year of age or older as outlined by Japanese law. Childcare leave can be split into two instances. (new law to be added)

  • Upon request, Fisher Investments will grant employees who are rearing a pre-school age child unpaid child nursing leave of up to 5 days per year (or up to 10 days per year if the employee hastwo or more pre-school age children), if the employee’s child is injured, becomes ill or requires a health immunization or examination and the employee needs to care for the child. An employee may take the child nursing leave on an hourly basis.
