Leaves & Holidays

At Fisher Investments Costa Rica, we believe in giving you time away to attend to your personal life. Whether for doctorโ€™s appointments, visiting with loved ones or traveling on holiday, weโ€™ve got you covered.

Annual Leave

To balance your work and free time, we want you to spend quality time doing what you enjoy. Our annual leave package is intended to give you the downtime and flexibility you need to stay happy and healthy.

All full-time employees accrue up to 15 days of paid annual leave per year, which are broken out as 12 statutory annual leave days and 3 supplemental annual leave days. This increases to 16 days of annual leave after 5 years of tenure, and 18 days after 10 years! The statutory annual leave can only be taken in full-day increments and may be used as soon as itโ€™s accrued. The supplemental annual leave can be taken in full-day or partial-day increments and may also be taken as soon as itโ€™s accrued.

Sickness Leave

Fisher Investments Costa Rica is concerned for your general health and wellbeing. We recognize that there will be times when you are ill and are unable to attend work. During such periods, we wish to offer our support so you can focus on your wellness and recovery.

When you need to be absent from work due to your own illness or injury, you must follow the reporting and certification requirements outlined in the  Employee Handbook. The company will pay 100% of your salary for up to 4 full days of sick leave per rolling 12-month period, resetting on the anniversary of your hire date each year. After the fourth day, the CCSS/INS will pay a subsidy according to statutory requirements.  Click here for paid sick time FAQs.
